Whose ready for a vacation to the beach? The sand and surf may be calling your name, but the prep work can be an overwhelming part of the beach vacation planning. Below I’ve highlighted a few tips that will help.

Food

If traveling with other people or families, organize and delegate. This is what we do for an annual girl’s trip. It takes a little effort ahead of time, but it’s worth it. Each family or pair can take a meal from prep to cleanign up. Some easy breakfast ideas include bringing quiches that just need to be heated or cinnamon rolls that can be baked. For lunch, pre buying chicken salad and making chicken salad sandwiches served with fruit is a hit and making BLTs for the crowd is always a crowd pleaser too. For dinner, bring food that won’t take all of your time and effort. Premade lasagnas, tacos with chicken from the crock pot, and lowcountry boil that can be done outside are also ways to keep you on the beach and out of the kitchen. Our group also hosts an appetizer night, where each person shares an app.

Beach Vacation Planning: Feeding a crowd

As for the bar, we also split the list. One person brought all of the mixers and citrus, one brought pina colada fixings, and others split the other items needed. Everyone brought their own wine and beer and everyone brought ice. You always need ice at the beach! You can find great cocktail recipes here: https://thecollarfind.com/category/food/.

The same goes for kitchen essentials with beach vacation planning. Getting organized ahead of time will help you enjoy the vacation as opposed to arriving exhausted! Below is an essentials check list, the things you will might would forget, but wish you had with you!

Checklist!

Enjoy your time at the beach when you arrive prepared. It keeps you from running to the grocery and spending more time on errands than sandcastles! And embrace the quirkiness of a rental home. Our crew goes around and on the last night highlights their favorite “find” at the house. This last one was phone from the 1980s on the kitchen wall. And yes, it still rings!
