The number one question I receive as an influencer is “Where should I stay in Charleston?” There are so many options, so I am launching a series Charleston Finds, that will highlight a hotel, activities close by and top eats to try as well.
First up:
STAY
The Palmetto Hotel. I loved everything about this East Bay Street hotel, especially the decor. It’s SO Charleston! Make sure to check out the couches made of fabric printed from old Charleston maps. Grab a Wisteria Fizz or their espresso martini at The Lobby Bar and sit in the lobby and enjoy as people walk by outside. The rooms were nicely appointed with little balconies that provide a view of the water. The hotel provides a full grits bars and fresh pastries in the morning too!
DO
The hotel is one block from the infamous Pineapple Fountain. Grab your walking shoes and start there and walk the waterfront until you are at the Battery on Murray Blvd. Walk side streets (we chose shady ones) to Broad Street and make a quick stop in the Customs House, for some cold air and some history. The Market is just a block from the hotel in a different direction, it’s worth walking through (stop into Gold Creations) and horse carriage tours are available close by too. More shopping awaits on King Street.
EAT
We took a Rickshaw (so fun and an easy way to see lots of the city) and ate at Maam Saab. It’s Pakistani food, we were a little skeptical but absolutely loved it. High Cotton is directly across the street if you want fancier food (Owned by the Hall’s group) and SNOB is right next door. Don’t forget dessert at Carmella’s before heading in for the night!
Hope this helps! Make sure to sign up for an email and follow on Instagram for more Charleston Finds from a born and raised Charleston influencer.
