Wondering how to build a bar cart? It’s not as hard as you think, and a well stocked bar cart can take party planning to the next level. Lately, I’ve been taking the bar cart outdoors, which is a nice way to visit with friends while social distancing. While it may look complicated, bar cart styling is much easier than you think. Below are tips on bar cart styling with links to everything you need to have on hand.
Bar Cart Styling Tips:
Finding the cart: I’ve linked a few of my favorites. This is a vintage one, the other I often use is actually a wood and brass combo from Target! Wheels and a bottom shelf is a must. Don’t be afraid to move the cart around, like I wheeled this one outside for a porch party.
Finding Booze: It’s important to know your crowd and have the favorites on hand with coordinating mixers. You can also use your cart to serve a signature drink, with everything you need to make the specialty drink. I keep Vodka and Topo Chico (like club soda) as a mixer and on hand as a pop of color on the cart too!
Below is a margarita themed bar cart. You can do a Mimosa themed cart too with champagne and mimosa mixers like cranberry juice and orange juice.
Find the essentials:
An ice bucket full of ice, wine tools, glasses stirrers and napkins are the must haves on a bar cart. You can add some personality to the cart with vintage finds too. Serving vodka? Add some cut limes with a lime juicer. Don’t overcrowd a cart or there isn’t room to actually see the options and make a cocktail!
Find the fun:
I added a candle to my outdoor cart because the party was at night. You can use vintage ice buckets to hold flowers. A bowl of lemons or limes is a great addition for decor. Add a specialty mixer, mint or basil for a pop of color and a way to add a twist to a standard cocktail.
