I’m a big fan of Broadway but very new to the Hamilton bandwagon. From the musical numbers to the story they tell, I was surprised by how hooked I am so quickly! Now that this play is available in Disney Plus, you can see it without paying thousands of dollars for a seat. It’s the perfect time to host a Hamilton party for your family or friends.
Hamilton tells the story of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, and does this through music from hip hop to your typical broadway showtunes. I hosted a Hamilton viewing party for my teen girls. The themed foods piqued their interest before the musical began, and it was easy to work a charcuterie board around this theme.
Here’s how to Host a Hamilton Party:
- Pull out the 4th of July decorations. I used American flag banner on the island and napkins left over from holiday.
- Serve tea to drink. Speaking of tea, King George just might be my absolute favorite character in the play!
- I served ham roll ups in honor of the name. I used the folio cheese wraps and ham to cut down on carbs.
- Heart candy for the Schuyler sisters, God love them. That Eliza was one forgiving lady!
- Benne Wafers for the South Carolina mention, served with goat cheese
theCollarfind tip: I made labels from gift tags explaining the foods on the board. You can pria nt Hamilton playbook cover and place on the board as well by taping to a tall glass.
This is an easy way to throw a Hamilton party for friends or teens that may be interested in the play but a little intimidated by the length. It’s long. I used what I had to make this themed tray and it totally worked. A tip for those that have not seen it before, consider to listening to the music of the play first. They go so fast, it is hard to catch everything the first time around.
