While most of our house is neutral (think white and grey), I always like to add a pop of color. Blue has always been my favorite, so it seemed natural to infuse this color into the #hobcawhouse renovation idea.
Maybe infused is not a strong enough word…
The biggest punch of blue is in the powder room. I found this wallpaper on Wayfair and decided to go for it. This renovation idea actually turned out better than I expected!
The blue trend continues in the kitchen in an understated way with these Mitzi lanterns from Candelabra. They have been one of my most favorite finds, and I could not wait to see them hanging over my island!
The kitchen opens into to our family room, so I decided to go bold with lacquered built ins in Sherwin Williams Naval or Salty Dog. This will perfectly compliment all of my blue and white chinoiserie accessories. Update: The blue actually competed with the accents, so we painted the back of the built in a a modern grey that matches the outside shutters. Now the ginger jars and other items really pop!
This vignette from our current house will be moving with us. The navy desk will help bring the blue to the living room, with a potential of a blue grasscloth accent wall in the near future. Next up will be accessories like ginger jars, pillows and art to pull the whole look together. Can’t wait to show you the finished look. Speaking of blue, I am loving this blue top that’s currently on sale! Am I the onlt one that gravitates to the same color in their house and their closet?
