Love this quote from Southern Living Magazine about blue and white decor, “No color combination can stand the test of time quite like blue and white. In the South, you can find it everywhere.” Yep, sounds about right! It’s been a favorite of mine for years, because there’s just something about that classic style.
One of my favorite way to incorporate blue and white decor in the home is with Ginger Jars. The vintage ones give so much character, and they’re perfect placed on a bookcase or builtin shelf. To find these check out your local antique malls, the best ones are the ones tucked away in small towns or a mall with several booths from different vendors. If you’re looking for brighter blue and white, check out Marshalls or HomeGoods, as they often carry ginger jars too and at a great price.
You will find blue and white in all areas of my house, from the kitchen to the bathrooms! It’s nice to carry the same color pallete throughout. We placed navy lanterns in the kitchen to compliment the blue pillows and accessories, and the guest bathroom is a blue patterned wallpaper with navy vanity. Check it out here.
According to Southern Living, “Featuring blue in your decor evokes feelings of calmness and serenity.” There are various ways you can do this. Not a fan of the traditional look, you can also incorporate blue and white in different ways. In this room, I chose a navy desk to anchor white chairs, and I added pops of blue in the art and the pillows. Just think of navy as a neutral and it can go everywhere!
