What’s in my beach bag? Pretty much everything but the unicorn! Here is a look at beach bag essentials that I always keep on hand for boat, beach or pool time.

First things first. The bag. Well, I have 3 and I use them all. A bag made from sailcloth is my go to on the boat. They can be very pricey, but I found a super affordable version on Amazon and linked it up. (Mine is Ella Vickers brand, I don’t think they make them any longer).  It holds a lot and keeps stuff dry. For the pool, I love a cute straw bag like the one linked below. For a beach day, the orange one from Amazon that says BEACH is so fun! The navy neoprene bag has been my go to this summer too. If I just need one or two things this is the best to hold my essentials. You can find them in local boutiques and online!

What to Pack

Now for the good stuff. An all purpose wet/dry bag is the MVP of the beach bag essentials list. It zips, and the pocket on the outside holds your phone. You can use your phone without taking it out of the pocket, which protects it from sand and water. And don’t forget a waterproof speaker, you’ve got to have some tunes! My sunscreen favs are: Sun Bum for the body, La Roche Posay tinted moisturizer SPF 50 for the face and neck, and Neutrogena spray for quick spritzes when it’s super hot outside. I like a tinted lip balm or lipstick with SPF and linked up two I like, there is nothing worse than burned lips!

theCollarfind tip: If going with a group, have them all submit their favorite songs. Compile a playlist of them all (I use Spotify) to play throughout the beach day. Everyone is happy with the music selection this way, and it’s fun to guess who picked each song!

What to Wear

As for what to wear, I always keep a wrap in my bag, and there are so many colors to choose from at this link below! I never leave without a hat in hand, and these wide brimmed straw hats cover the whole chest area, which I like. These designer inspired sunglasses always garner compliments. The scalloped detail on the flip flop is really cute! I always keep a sunshirt (linked below) and a long sleeved shirt in my bag, in case I get too much sun.

theCollarfind tip: I always keep a ziploc in my bag for treasures we may find along the way. My favorite is to search for shark’s teeth, see one of my recent hauls below! And keep some vinegar on hand for those jellyfish stings. Don’t forget the trash bags and baby powder if you want to keep sand from getting in your car. Sprinkle on your feet and it knocks the sand right off!
