Here’s the truth. I’m not Irish. Not even close. But I like a good holiday and I LOVE a themed cocktail. So in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I’m sharing my Irish Mule Bourbon Cocktail recipe.

This recipe is fairly simple. Start with your Bourbon of choice. I used a honey whiskey that’s locally made in Charleston, but any good brown liquor will work!

The twist– a little lemonade. I love a Bourbon lemon combination!

The best part: You can change it up. My husband likes a lot of ginger beer, I opt for cutting it with a flavored sparkling water.

theCollarfind tip: Whole Foods has a ginger sparkling water that brings all of the taste without all of the calories.

theCollarfind tip: Don’t skimp on Ginger Beer. Fever Tree is the very best. The others taste like chemicals to me.

Don’t forget a garnish! I used green straws and flags, but gold coins around the tray would be cute too. You can garnish with a lime wedge to bump up the green factor, and crystallized ginger is a great way to add even more of a kick to your cocktail!
