I have a confession to make: I’ve been influenced. I keep seeing Instagrammers posting about Ranch Water. My first thought: “Ranch is for salads, silly.” But then I saw tequila was involved, and that it was a low carb cocktail recipe, and well, here we are. I’m a fan!
So first up, this has nothing to do with ranch, like the Hidden Valley kind. The story goes that ranch water, the cocktail, originated in West Texas on, you guessed it, a ranch. It has very few ingredients, but a lot of flavor! It’s the perfect libation to sip in the summer sun.
theCollarfind tip: There’s actually a few tips. One, use a lime juicer. I like to juice limes round side down in a large glass measuring cup as they can be messy.
Also, the mineral water is non negotiable. I love a good sparkling water, but Topo Chico is different. It’s fizzier yet lighter, and it’s so good. Texas friends, I am a fan!
Third, when choosing a tequila, make sure it’s 100% agave. And finally, the ice. Fill the glass to the top with ice and then equal parts tequila mixture and Topo Chico. You won’t use all of the water, so keep it close by and you can add more as you go in this crazy heat.
Hope you enjoy this low carb cocktail as much as I do! For more cocktail fun, https://thecollarfind.com/category/food/. For more good finds, follow me on Instagram and Pinterest!
