Time for a trip to a relaxing trip, but relaxing is just one of the things you can do on Kiawah Island. Kiawah is located about 45 minutes from Charleston. It’s a perfect getaway if you are looking for beaches, bike rides, wildlife spotting and more.
We stayed at The Sanctuary, the hotel on the island. Expect 5 star service from the moment you drive up. A nice perk is that the shuttle serve will take you to all of the different spots and restaurants on Kiawah.
Things to Do
If staying at The Sanctuary, sit poolside and enjoy cocktails and a book (Get chairs early in the summer months)
Grab beach chairs and enjoy the view
Rent bikes and go on an adventure – look for deer, they are everywhere!
Play a round of golf at The Ocean Course
Shop at FreshFields Village- the cutest little area with a grocery store, restaurants and shops (grab a frose from the COOP if you want to look like a local) This is one of the kid’s favorite things to do on Kiawah Island.
Send the kids to Night Heron Park- there is always pick up basketball games going on and the Island Serpentarium is close by too.
Where to Eat on Kiawah Island
The outside area at the Ocean Course is hands down my favorite. Beautiful views, and a great ocean breeze. Dress up, this is your picture taking spot.
Atlantic Room at Ocean Course if you are feeling extra fancy.
The Player’s Pub at Cougars Point- the burger was amazing!
If staying at The Sanctuary, order food at the pool. Yummy, but pricey. The beach service was sadly VERY slow this year. (Like 2 hours longer than pool to order and eat) Warning: They close up shop starting at 4:30.
Where to Stay
The Sanctuary- my fav!
Villas
Andell Inn is outside of Kiawah, near FreshFields
